These vessels have been turned on a lathe to create one of a kind pieces of art. The majority are fashioned from Garry Oak, a species that grows only on the Pacific coast. The artisan sustainably harvests the wood, using only trees that have been felled by storms or have died by other natural means. The lighter colored vessels are finished with a water based satin varathane which highlights the grain while not changing the natural color. The amber colored pieces are finished with oil based satin lacquer which darkens the oak as it brings out the beauty of the grain. Both styles can be cleaned with a damp cloth but should never be immersed in water. While these beautiful and unique vessels are being offered as urns, they can be purchased to be used for other purposes.
